Step-by-step itinerary
Catamaran cruise and water activities
- Start at Puerto del Carmen harbor
- Sail towards Papagayo Coast
- Enjoy mojito welcome drink and open bar
- Anchor at Papagayo beaches
- Swim, kayak, or snorkel
- Eat Spanish paella and drink from open bar
- Return to Puerto del Carmen harbor
- Take bus back to resort
The Experience
The boat leaves Puerto del Carmen harbor at 11am with a welcome mojito and Spanish omelet waiting as you board. You'll sail toward Papagayo Coast with an unlimited open bar running the whole time, so drinks stay free whether you're on deck or in the water. The catamaran is luxury-class and carries a multilingual guide (English, Spanish, French and Italian available; German on Thursdays by request).
Once anchored in front of Papagayo's white sand beaches, the afternoon splits between what you want to do. Kayak around the bay, snorkel, or swim off the boat—the kayaks are included and ready to go. If you'd rather stay on deck, the views and breeze are the whole point, and you're not obligated to get in the water. A fresh Spanish paella and more open-bar drinks arrive while you're anchored, so lunch happens with the beach in front of you.
The crossing back to Puerto del Carmen takes in the Lanzarote landscape, and a return bus waits at the harbor at 4pm to take you back to your resort. If you booked with pickup service, the driver collects you from your hotel beforehand; if not, you meet the boat directly at the harbor. Bookings made within 24 hours of departure don't include guaranteed pickup, so contact the supplier directly if you need that service confirmed.

Is this one for you?Choose the pickup option if your hotel is on the supplier's route and you'd rather not drive to Puerto del Carmen yourself; book without pickup if you're staying nearby or prefer to meet the boat directly at the harbor. What's included in the catamaran cruise to Papagayo?
The cruise includes a multilingual guide, kayak use, unlimited drinks from the open bar, a paella lunch, a welcome mojito on arrival, and hotel pickup and drop-off if you select that option at checkout. Snorkeling equipment is not included.
Can I get off the boat and walk on Papagayo Beach itself?
No—the catamaran anchors in front of Papagayo, so you swim, kayak or snorkel from the boat, but you don't land on the beach itself. The white sand is the backdrop while you're on the water.
How long is the whole cruise, and what time does it start?
The cruise runs four hours total. Departure is 11am from Puerto del Carmen harbor, and the return bus leaves the harbor at 4pm to take you back to your resort.
Is the guide multilingual, and are there language options?
Yes—the guide speaks English, Spanish, French and Italian as standard. German is available on Thursdays only and must be requested when you book.
Do I have to do the water activities, or can I stay on the boat?
Water activities are optional. You can kayak, snorkel and swim, or you can stay on deck the whole time and enjoy the views, breeze and open bar. Both are part of the same cruise.
What happens if I book within 24 hours of departure?
Pickup from your hotel is not guaranteed for bookings made within 24 hours. You'll need to head directly to Puerto del Carmen harbor to meet the boat, or contact the local supplier after booking to arrange pickup directly with them.
