The guide keeps the group together. When you reach Papagayo, you beach the kayak, rest for a moment, and eat the snacks and drink the water that came with you. Then you paddle the same 3 km back, which means you already know the route and the rhythm by the time you turn around.

The whole excursion takes 4 hours from start to finish. You need at least a moderate level of fitness to paddle 6 km, but the guide adjusts the pace to the group. Children from age 4 can join, though pregnant travelers should sit this one out.
