The experience

You leave Valencia in an air-conditioned vehicle and drive to Montanejos, where the hike begins with an ascent along the Maimona ravine. The route follows huge rock walls through a canyon that opens onto views of the river below. After crossing the ravine on foot, you descend to the riverbed for a lunch stop beside the mountain water, then climb the opposite side through a dense pine forest.

The day ends at Fuente de baños, where the thermal springs have maintained 25 degrees Celsius year-round since the 10th century. You can swim in the river Mijares at the site, or simply rest after the hike. The guide handles the route and timing. Entrance to the springs and coffee or tea are included. The full day runs 8 hours from pickup to return.
