Diving in Montgrí Natural Park: First underwater breath
Your first 20 minutes underwater, one instructor at your side
A diving baptism in Montgrí Natural Park pairs you with a dedicated instructor for your first underwater immersion at 7-10 meters depth. You'll spend 20 minutes breathing underwater and discovering the seabed, guided through every moment by someone focused only on you. No prior diving experience is needed, and the activity welcomes children from age 9.
The experience
Montgrí Natural Park sits off the Girona coast, and this is where you'll make your first descent. A monitor stays with you throughout. One instructor per person, which means your safety and comfort come first. You'll descend to a maximum depth of 7-10 meters, shallow enough to keep you relaxed but deep enough to feel the shift from the surface world. The 20 minutes underwater is long enough to adjust to breathing through the regulator, to notice how light bends differently down there, and to spot what lives on the seabed.
The whole session runs about two and a half hours, which includes suiting up, a safety briefing, and time in the water. All SCUBA equipment is provided. Guides speak English, Spanish, or French, so language won't be a barrier. The park itself is accessible by public transport, and the activity is wheelchair accessible up to the point of entry into the water.
If this first dive hooks you, the next step is the Open Water Diver course, and if you complete your baptism here, you'll get a discount on that certification course equivalent to what you paid today.
What’s included
