The experience
You're picked up from your hotel and driven to Hyeopjae Beach first, where rocks frame an emerald-colored shoreline and Biyang-do island sits visible offshore. The beach is small enough to walk in an hour but distinctive enough that it anchors the morning. From there the route moves inland to Hallim Park, Jeju's largest botanical garden, where you see traditional Jeju houses with gates whose wooden stick arrangements each carry meaning. The guide explains what the construction tells you about the family who built it. If the garden doesn't appeal, you can swap this stop for Manorblanc, a seaside cafe with seasonal flowers instead.
The centerpiece is Suwol Bong hill, a UNESCO Global Geopark site where a walking path traces the coastline past volcanic rock formations. The palm trees lining the park were planted in 1971 in what was then abandoned sand. They've grown into the landscape you walk through now, and geologists still study the hill's volcanic origins. After trekking, you eat authentic local food at a restaurant: vegetarian options are available if you request them when booking. Next comes O'Sulloc Tea Museum, set in the middle of Jeju's largest green tea fields. Tea lovers can sample and buy, though entry is optional. Mount Sanbangsan, a dome-shaped lava mountain with a temple carved into its side halfway up, takes about twenty minutes to hike and opens onto views across the landscape.
The day ends at one of two waterfalls. You choose between Jeongbang and Cheonjeyeon. Cheonjeyeon has three tiers but the first falls behind rocks so the view is partial. Jeongbang is a single drop. Your guide handles the route and timing. Entrance fees at each site are paid on arrival, not included in the tour price. The whole day runs eight to nine hours door-to-door.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English, Korean and Chinese.
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (4 to 8 years); Infant (1 to 3 years): free.
What is Suwol Bong hill and why is it worth the trek?
Suwol Bong is a UNESCO-designated Global Geopark site formed by volcanic eruption, with a walking path that winds along the coastline past rock formations and views of nearby islands. The palm trees were planted in 1971 and have grown to create the landscape you walk through. Geologists study the hill's volcanic structure.
Can I customize the itinerary or do I have to follow the West Course stops?
You don't have to follow the itinerary as written. Tell your guide where you want to visit and explore instead. The tour is private, so it can be adjusted to your interests.
What's included in the tour price and what do I pay separately?
The tour includes private transportation, your English-speaking guide, hotel pickup and dropoff, all fees and taxes, and a local lunch. You pay entrance fees at each site when you arrive. They're not included upfront.
Do I have to visit O'Sulloc Tea Museum or can I skip it?
O'Sulloc is optional. It's the largest green tea fields in Jeju and the museum lets you sample and walk around, but if tea isn't your interest, your guide can adjust the stop.
Which waterfall should I choose? Jeongbang or Cheonjeyeon?
Cheonjeyeon has three tiers but the first waterfall falls behind rocks so visibility is limited. Jeongbang is a single, unobstructed drop. Pick based on whether you prefer multiple cascades or a clear single view.
