The experience

The tour runs four hours and hits five major stops, but the order and how long you spend at each one is yours to decide. Your driver picks you up from your hotel or airport and takes you to Merlion Park first: the half-lion, half-fish symbol of Singapore that sits at the mouth of Singapore River, the historic waterway that flows through the city's central business district. From there, the route typically moves through Little India, the neighborhood of spice shops and temples, then to Marina Bay, where the skyline opens up and the Gardens by the Bay sit across the water. The driver stays with the vehicle while you walk and photograph. They know the best angles and the quieter times to visit each spot.

The vehicle is air-conditioned and comes with bottled water. Tolls, parking and fuel are all included, so there are no surprise charges at the end. You can choose a sedan for up to three people, an MPV for up to six, or a van for up to ten: useful if you're traveling with a family or a small group. If you're arriving with luggage or traveling with children, let the operator know in advance. Child seats are available on request for SGD 20 each, and an upgraded vehicle can be arranged if bags won't fit in the standard one. The driver speaks English. If you want a licensed guide who can tell you the history and stories behind each stop, that's available separately in English or Chinese for SGD 60 per hour, or in Tamil, Italian, Spanish or French for SGD 100 per hour. Just request it at least 48 hours ahead.

A few practical notes: if you're picking up from the airport, provide your flight details at least 24 hours before arrival. For cruise port pickups, give the ship name in advance. Pickups from Jurong or Woodland areas carry an extra charge of SGD 20 per vehicle, paid to the driver. During the F1 Grand Prix, parts of Marina Bay may be closed and the route will shift to alternatives. Public transport is available nearby if you want to add stops on your own time.
