The Experience

The driver picks you up at your hotel lobby, the airport or cruise port and takes you through the landmarks most visitors want to see. Esplanade Park comes first, then Merlion Park where you stand in front of the famous statue and learn about the vertical marathon hotel nearby. From there you walk along Singapore River, pass through Raffles City and China Square, and move into the older neighborhoods where the mosque, Buddhist temple and Hindu temple sit within steps of each other on the same street.

Chinatown is next — you stroll around and see the hotel that used to be an opera house, then head to Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum. The driver can arrange a stop at one of Singapore's biggest hawker centres for lunch with a local spice maker if you want it (this is optional and costs extra). Little India follows, and the tour ends at Mount Faber, where you walk across Henderson Waves — one of Singapore's most distinctive bridges — and get a 360-degree view of the city from the top.

You pick the length of the tour — 4, 6 or 8 hours — when you book, and the driver adjusts the number of stops to fit the time.
