After Peles, you move to Sinaia Monastery, a 17th-century Orthodox site that gives you a real sense of the religious architecture that shaped Transylvania, then on to Bran Castle, the one everyone calls Dracula's castle. It's 14th-century Gothic, perched on a boulder overlooking the valley, and the stories are part of the draw—Bram Stoker made it famous, but the actual history is older and stranger.
