The experience
The day starts with a pickup from your Doha hotel and a drive to the desert where the guide deflates the vehicle's tires for dune bashing. While that happens, you visit a Bedouin tent to ride camels and handle falcons, with time to photograph both. Then the 4WD takes over: you grip the vehicle as it charges down the dunes in a series of climbs and descents that make up the core of the experience.
Midway through, the driver stops at the singing dunes: a break point locals named for the wind sounds that drift across the highest peaks. From there you move to the tallest dunes for sandboarding, where you carry a board up the slope and ride down with views across the desert floor. The route then heads toward the Inland Sea, a shallow lagoon where the water meets the Saudi border. You have time to walk the shore, absorb the stillness and watch the horizon.
The final stop is a desert camp set on the beach next to the Inland Sea. A BBQ meal is included, and because the camp sits right by the water, you can swim. Optional activities (falcon photos, ATV rides) cost extra and are arranged on arrival. The guide speaks English, Arabic, Hindi, Pashto and Urdu, and the air-conditioned vehicle means the drive back to Doha is a cool wind-down after a full day in the heat. Bottled water and coffee or tea come throughout.
Is this one for you?Book the morning or afternoon departure depending on whether you prefer to start early and rest at the camp, or spend the morning in Doha and finish the day with sunset views at the Inland Sea. Dune bashing is intense and not suitable for travelers with spinal injuries or serious heart conditions, but it suits all other fitness levels. The sandboarding and camel riding are gentler, and you set your own pace at each stop.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?

Yes. Ticket types: Child (1 to 11 years).
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What happens during the dune bashing part of the safari?
Dune bashing is the 4WD driving itself: the vehicle climbs and descends the desert dunes in rapid succession, creating the thrill of the ride. The driver deflates the tires first to grip the sand better, and the experience takes up the main portion of the morning and early afternoon.
Can I actually swim at the Inland Sea camp?
Yes. The camp is located on the beach next to the Inland Sea, so swimming is possible during the final stop. Bring a change of clothes or plan to dry off before the drive back to Doha.
Is sandboarding included, or do I need experience?
Sandboarding is included and requires no prior experience. You carry the board up the highest dunes and ride down. The guide shows you how to position yourself, and the soft sand makes falls painless.
What is the Inland Sea actually like?
The Inland Sea is a shallow lagoon where the water meets the desert and the Saudi border is visible across it. It is a calm, open space with wide views: a stark contrast to the dune section and a place to pause and take in the landscape.
How much of the seven hours is driving to and from Doha?
Two hours of the seven-hour total is pickup and drop-off from your hotel location to the desert and back. The remaining five hours cover the dune bashing, sandboarding, camel rides, Inland Sea and camp meal.
