Step-by-step itinerary

Scuba dive and snorkel in Puerto Rico

  • Meet experienced crew onboard
  • Explore shallow reefs by scuba dive
  • Snorkel and spot marine life
  • Enjoy paddle boarding and sea fun

The experience

The boat holds your group alone. If someone in your party is a certified diver, they drop down for a one-tank dive while the rest of you stay at the surface with snorkel gear, watching the same reef from above. The reefs sit in shallow water, 30 to 60 feet, so snorkelers see the marine life without needing to go deep, and divers get a close encounter with the structure and the fish moving through it. Paddle boards are there if you want to float without the mask, and the Caribbean is warm enough that you'll stay comfortable the whole time.

Lunch and snacks come with the charter. Water and soda are unlimited, and if you're over 18, beer and other drinks are available. The crew brings all the SCUBA and snorkeling equipment, so you don't pack tanks or regulators. Four hours is the standard length, though a full-day option stretches the time on the water and lets you hit more reef or simply move slower and see more of what's already there.

What’s included

  • All snorkeling and SCUBA equipment.
  • lunch and snacks.
  • water, soda and beverages (alcoholic if over 18).
  • a live guide in English or Spanish.
  • a crew of SCUBA instructors, USCG-licensed captains and a marine biologist.

Top questions

What languages is the guide in?

Live guide in English and Spanish.

What happens if it rains?

It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24h before the start.

Can I snorkel if nobody in my group is certified to dive?

Yes. The charter works for snorkelers only. The SCUBA option is there if someone in your party holds a certification, but it's not required. Everyone on the boat gets to do what suits them.

What are the reefs like at 30 to 60 feet?

The crew has found shallow reefs with dense marine life and vibrant color. Snorkelers see the fish and structure from the surface, and divers descend to move through the reef itself and get closer to what lives there.

Is the four-hour charter the only time option?

A half-day and a full-day charter are both available. The half-day is four hours. The full-day gives you more time on the water to explore additional reefs or spend longer at one site.

What's included in the price?

All snorkeling and SCUBA equipment, lunch, snacks, water, soda, and alcoholic beverages if you're over 18. You bring only yourself and your group. The crew handles the rest.

Does the boat pick me up at my hotel?

The charter is a private boat, but transportation to the meeting point is not included. You'll need to arrange your own way to where the boat departs.
