The experience
You arrive at Isleta Marina in Fajardo at 7am or 1pm depending on your departure time, fill out waivers and get fitted with snorkeling equipment before boarding. The boat leaves at 8am or 2pm and sails 20 to 30 minutes to the first site at the Fajardo Keys, where shallow reefs packed with colorful fish and coral fill the water around you. You spend about 80 minutes here, moving between spots the guide knows, with complimentary water and sodas on board.
After the reefs, the boat moves to Icacos beach, a stretch of white sand and clear water where you can either stay on the beach or wade out to snorkel more reefs from the shore. Fresh fruit, chips and snacks appear on board. The whole day runs about 4 hours from start to finish, and you're back at the marina by midday or early evening depending on which departure you pick.
Snorkeling gear, a flotation device if you need one, and a professional crew focused on safety come with every booking. The guide speaks English and Spanish, so language is not a barrier. Children from age 8 are welcome, and the activity suits all fitness levels, though it's not recommended for people with spinal injuries, poor cardiovascular health, or if you're pregnant.
