Step-by-step itinerary

Snorkeling and beach visits

  • Visit Icacos Island
  • Guided snorkeling at Tortuga Reef
  • Beach time and lunch at Icacos
  • Sail to Palomino Island
  • Relax on Palomino beach

The experience

The boat leaves from a private marine and heads to Tortuga Reef first, where you snorkel with a guide through waters that hold the marine life both islands are known for. After the reef, the day moves to Icacos Island for beach time and a BBQ lunch of chicken, pasta salad and bread, with fruit and snacks throughout. Once you've had your fill of sand and water at Icacos, you sail to Palomino Island to spend the remaining hours on its beach before heading back.

Everything is set up for you: snorkeling gear, floats and a floating mat in the water; an umbrella planted in the sand; coolers stocked with Medalla beer, rum punch, sodas, juice and water; and music playing on deck. The crew has years of experience in the area and adjusts the day to what you want. The boat itself is maintained to stay comfortable and clean, and there's a restroom on board. All you need to bring is a towel and sunblock.

The full day runs about seven and a half hours, which gives you real time in the water and on the beach rather than a quick stop at each island. Because the boat is chartered for your group alone, the pace and the schedule are yours to shape within that window.
