The experience

Your day starts with pickup from your Lisbon accommodation and a drive into Sintra, a village built into the Serra de Sintra mountains where Portuguese kings chose to build summer palaces. The guide points out the National Palace of Sintra in the village center, then takes you through the grounds of Pena Palace, Castelo dos Mouros, Quinta da Regaleira and Palácio de Seteais: each one a different era of royal architecture and gardens. From Sintra, the route heads west to Cabo da Roca, the point where the Serra de Sintra ends and the Atlantic begins.
