The Experience

I nearly slipped on the first mossy rock: no one warned me how slick the stones get near these Peneda-Gerês waterfalls. Plates of soup and grilled meat kept appearing until we couldn’t move. The old man at the next table winked when I tried my Portuguese: probably mangled it completely.
