Your driver picks you up from your Krakow hotel between 7:30 and 9:20 am (the exact time is confirmed two days before), and drives you to Auschwitz in roughly 75 minutes. A licensed museum guide meets you there and leads the tour of both camps with headphones so you hear clearly in the crowd. The Auschwitz-Birkenau visit takes around 3.5 hours and covers the two main Nazi camps where prisoners from Poland and other countries were held, worked to exhaustion, subjected to experiments, or executed. This is not a sightseeing tour in the usual sense. It is a historical account of a specific place and what happened there.

After Auschwitz, you travel to Wieliczka Salt Mine, about an hour away. The mine is a complex of 3,000 chambers carved over centuries, reaching depths of 64 to 327 meters, and it has been worked continuously since the Middle Ages.
