The experience
The class starts with hands-on foraging along the shoreline and in nearby areas, where your local guide shows you which seaweed, plants and other ingredients are edible and how islanders have used them for generations. You'll gather what you need for the cooking portion, learning about sustainability and the plants that matter to Boracay's food culture as you work.
Back at the cooking area, you move into the snack-making workshop. Your host walks you through crafting linupak (pounded root crops mixed with fresh coconut), and seaweed salad dressed with calamansi and local vinegar. You're making these dishes yourself, not watching a demonstration. The menu also includes local sweets, seasonal tropical fruits, and a choice of herbal drink or coconut water, all prepared with ingredients from the foraging or sourced locally.
The experience wraps with a seaside feast where you eat what you've made, sitting with your hosts away from the main tourist beaches. After lunch, you have the option to relax on the quiet beach or snorkel in the calm water before the return transport to your hotel.
