The experience
Puka Beach or Ilig-Iligan Beach is your first stop, depending on wind and swell that day. You'll spend time on the sand before the boat moves to the first snorkeling site, where the water holds colorful corals and reef fish. The second site follows, then the boat heads to Tambisaan Beach for a beachfront lunch of fresh local dishes. The whole arc takes four hours from pickup to drop-off.
Everything you need to snorkel is already on the boat: masks, fins, and a guide who speaks English and knows the reefs. A water bottle stays with you the whole time. The boat is private, so the pace and the stops bend to what you want. If the fish are thick at one reef, you stay longer. If the beach calls, you move on. Dietary restrictions (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free) are accommodated if you note them at booking.
Pickup happens at your hotel if you're in Station 1, 2, or 3 (the main beachfront zone). Outside that area, pickup costs 500 pesos and up, paid in cash to the driver. Cruise ship passengers can arrange pickup and drop-off for 1,000 pesos (groups of 1–4) or 2,000 pesos (groups of 5–8), also cash. Children from age one are welcome, though infants must sit on an adult's lap in the boat.

Is this one for you?You book this if you want the reef to yourself without a crowd of other snorkelers, and the private boat makes that possible: your guide moves at your pace and picks the sites based on what you want to see that day. If you'd rather join a shared boat and split the cost, a group snorkeling tour would suit you better.
