The tour starts with hotel pickup in Panama City and a drive north to Chagres National Park, one of Panama's largest nature reserves. From there, you board a motorized canoe and travel upriver to Puru Biakiru, the Emberá village where the day unfolds. The river itself is the route. The guide navigates while you sit and watch the jungle close in on both banks.

Once at the village, you meet Emberá community members and learn how they live in the forest. They perform ceremonial dances, and you're invited to join. Before lunch, the group walks to a waterfall deeper in the jungle, the Zelva, where you can swim and cool off in the water. The Emberá prepare a traditional meal on-site, and you eat together at the village. Your booking money goes directly to the community and to protecting the park's forests.

The return journey follows the same river route back to your hotel, with the drive taking you through Panama City traffic. Bring a swimsuit, water shoes (not sandals), sunscreen, a towel, and insect repellent. Cash is useful if you want to buy handicrafts from the villagers.
