The experience

The boat leaves Alseeb marina at 8:30am for a 25-minute crossing to Turtle City, the first snorkeling site on the Dimaniyat Islands. You'll spend an hour in the water here, where turtles are a regular sight among the reef. The guide briefs you on safety and technique before you enter, and snorkeling gear is already fitted to your size. After an hour in the water, you come back to the boat for a break with snacks and bottled water.

The second site, Black Tip, sits a short boat ride away. This reef holds a different mix of fish and coral, and you get another hour to explore it before the return journey begins around 1pm. The boat takes a slower route back to the marina, watching for whale sharks on the crossing. You're back by 1:30pm. The whole trip runs about 4 hours from start to finish.

All snorkeling equipment is provided, along with life jackets for safety. The guide speaks English and Arabic. Public transport options are available near the marina if you're not driving yourself, and the activity suits all fitness levels: infants can join if they sit on an adult's lap during the boat ride.
