You start on land with paperwork and a safety rundown, then move to gear fitting: wetsuits, masks, fins and tanks adjusted by expert staff to sit right on your body. A thorough pre-dive briefing follows, covering hand signals, how to equalize pressure in your ears, and what to do if something goes wrong. The briefing also walks you through the specific site you're about to enter, so you know what to expect underwater.
The boat ride out to the dive site is part of the experience. You travel with your group and the instructors who will be in the water with you. Once you descend, you're under the supervision of a certified diver the whole time. The reefs around Muscat draw sea turtles, schools of colorful fish and other marine life that move through the site at their own pace. You navigate the underwater landscape with your guide, who points out what's there and watches for your signals if you need to adjust anything: depth, air consumption, direction.
Professional dive photography is available if you want to capture the moment, though that's a separate booking. The return boat ride gives you time to decompress and talk through what you saw. The whole outing, from arrival to boat departure, runs four hours. Bring a valid diving certification if you have one. If you don't, ask about introductory options when you book.
