The experience
The class starts with instruction in proper paddleboarding technique, then moves into practice across the water. You get a full-body workout on the board, moving through a stunning setting of lush vegetation and scenic landscapes while staying connected to the natural surroundings. The certified instructor guides you through the mechanics and pacing, so beginners and experienced paddlers alike can join. The operator offers separate options for each level, from a 2-hour practice session to a 3.5-hour experience that layers in meditation.
After the paddling portion, you settle into a guided meditation session on the water, where the peaceful beauty of the natural surroundings becomes the focus. Monkeys and tropical birds move through the vegetation around you. If you want, you can feed fruit to Marcel and Antonio, two resident monkeys. The lake's warm waters invite a refreshing swim, and the views of Mombacho Volcano frame the whole experience. One sunrise option adds organic cacao tea at the end, timed to catch the light before the day heats up.
The operator provides the board, paddle, leash, dry bag, phone bag, life vest and sunglass strap; a cooler for your belongings; fresh coconut water at the end of the wellness sessions; and videos and photos of your time on the water. Transport within Granada town is included. A live guide speaks English, Spanish or Portuguese depending on your preference. Bring sunscreen, a hat, towel and a change of clothes if you want one. You can pack snacks and cold drinks in the cooler the operator carries.
