The experience

The trek begins at 5 PM when you mount a camel and ride straight into the desert for one hour. Your luggage travels separately by car so you arrive at the camp with only what you need. You watch it from the dunes themselves, and if the sky is clear, the stars arrive thick enough to photograph.

Dinner happens under those stars with live traditional Sahara music. The camp provides a hearty breakfast in the morning, and you walk up the dunes to catch the sunrise before eating. Sand boarding on the slopes is part of the day if you want it. The return journey is your choice: ride a camel back to the meeting point or take a jeep, depending on how your legs feel and what the next part of your trip demands.
