The experience
The day starts at 5:30 PM when you meet your guide and either mount a camel or climb into a Jeep for the ride into the desert. The camel trek takes about an hour and moves at the pace of the animal. The Jeep is faster. Your luggage travels separately by vehicle so you arrive at the tent without it. Once at camp, you walk out onto the dunes to photograph the sunset, then return for a dinner of Berber food with live drum music. The night is spent in your private tent, which has its own bathroom, shower, toilet and air conditioning: amenities that set this camp apart from the open-air alternative.
Morning brings a walk to the dunes to watch the sunrise, then back to the tent for a shower and breakfast. After eating, you choose your return: camel or Jeep. The Jeep ride takes you back to the starting point by mid-morning. Sand boarding is available if you want it, and the camp provides a scarf for sun protection. Bottled water is included throughout, and parking for your car is held at the meeting point.
The guide is live and speaks English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and two additional languages, so communication is direct. A minimum of two people must book together, and children travel with an adult.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese and Arabic.
How does the camel ride work? Is it difficult if I've never ridden before?
The camel ride lasts about one hour from the meeting point to the camp. Camels move slowly and steadily, and the pace is set by the animal, not by speed. No prior experience is needed. The guide handles the logistics. If you prefer not to ride, the Jeep option gets you to camp the same way.
What is the tent actually like? Is it really private with a bathroom?
The private luxury tent has its own bathroom with a shower, toilet and towels. Air conditioning keeps it cool at night. It's a single tent for your group, not a shared space, so you have privacy and the comfort of climate control in the desert.
When exactly does the tour start and end?
The trip departs at 5:30 PM from the meeting point. You spend the night in the camp and return to the starting point the next morning after breakfast, typically by mid-morning. The full experience is about 20 hours.
What happens if the sky is cloudy? Will I still see the stars?
The operator notes that stars sparkle with intensity when the sky is clear. Clouds do happen in the desert, but the camp is positioned for viewing. The sunrise walk the next morning is your second chance to see the landscape, regardless of the previous night's conditions.
Is there anything to do during the night besides sleep?
After dinner, there is live Berber music with drums. You can walk the dunes again if you wish, or rest in your tent. Sand boarding is available as an optional activity during the day.
