The experience
The tour departs in the late afternoon and heads straight into the dunes on camel. You'll ride toward the sunset, watching the light change across the sand, and arrive at the Berber camp as the sky darkens. Dinner is served in the open air under the stars, and afterward the guide and local musicians gather around the fire to play traditional music and share stories of life in the desert. You sleep in the camp that night, then wake for sunrise before heading back after breakfast the next morning.
If camel trekking isn't right for you, quad biking or a 4x4 vehicle can take you to the camp instead. Dinner and breakfast are included in both cases. The whole experience runs roughly 16 hours from start to finish, so you're back by mid-morning the day after you leave. A live guide travels with the group and speaks English, Spanish, French or Arabic depending on the booking.
