The Experience
The day starts with pickup from your hotel and a 50-minute drive south to a ranch on the Atlantic coast. Once you arrive, you pick which camel you'll ride—each one is different, and the guide helps you get settled. Then you head out across the landscape: through banana fields, past small sand dunes, and down to Tamri Beach, where a national park protects a population of birds. The ride itself is the main event; you feel the animal's rhythm as you move through the terrain, and the guide stays with you the whole way.
When you return to the ranch, the second part begins. You sit down to a spread of Moroccan salad and barbecued meat, with Moroccan tea to drink. The meal happens at the ranch, so you're still close to the beach and the light is usually soft by then. The whole outing—drive, ride, meal and return—runs about four hours, which means the rest of your day in Agadir is still yours.
