The experience
The route opens in Tangier with a pickup from the airport, port or hotel, then moves through the Kasbah and Medina to the Grand Socco before heading to Cap Spartel and the Caves of Hercules. An optional camel ride on Achakar beach sits here if you want it. Late afternoon you drive to Chefchaouen (about 2.5 hours), arriving at a riad in the blue medina for the night.
Day two starts with a morning walk through Chefchaouen's streets (the Spanish Mosque and Ras El Ma waterfall are the landmarks), then the drive to Volubilis, a UNESCO-listed Roman archaeological site where you can explore with a local guide if you choose. From there it's another 2.5 hours to Fes, where you check into a riad inside the medina. Day three is a full guided tour of Fes itself: the Royal Palace Gates with their bronze doors and tilework, the Jewish Quarter and Ibn Danan Synagogue, the Jnan Sbil Gardens, and Borj Nord fortress for views over the old city. On day four, after breakfast at the riad, you visit those same landmarks again with time to linger, then drive back to Tangier.
The tour runs at a comfortable pace with private transport throughout, so you move between cities without the rhythm of a group schedule. Accommodation is in a traditional riad or 4-star hotel each night, and meals listed in the itinerary are included. A live English-speaking guide leads the city tours, and children from age 3 are welcome.
