The experience
The day starts at the Mayan History Museum, where the park's history unfolds before you step into the electric cart that becomes your transport for the next several hours. These carts run continuously, so you set the rhythm: linger at any of the four viewpoints overlooking the jungle and Caribbean, or move straight through to the beach. The cart does the work. You decide when to stop and how long to stay.
Once at the water, a boat takes you out to the second-longest barrier reef in the world. Snorkeling equipment is included, and the reef itself is the point: colored corals, schools of fish, the underwater life that makes this stretch of coast different from the resort beaches inland. The boat positions you at a vantage where you can see the Mayan ruins from the water: a rare angle most visitors never get. After the reef, you return to the beach for lunch and a drink at one of the seafront restaurants, where you can sit and let the Caribbean do the work.
The pass covers six and a half hours of access, with a live guide available in English or Spanish and pickup included in the price. The park is wheelchair accessible, and the electric carts mean you don't walk the distances that would otherwise tire you out.

Is this one for you?You explore the park and reef at your own pace using the electric cart, so the day suits anyone who wants to move at their own speed rather than follow a fixed schedule: families with young children, older travelers, or anyone who prefers to linger at a viewpoint without holding up a group.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English and Spanish.
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (5 to 10 years); Infant (under 5).
What exactly is the Mesoamerican reef, and what will I see when I snorkel there?
The Mesoamerican reef is the second-longest barrier reef in the world, running along Mexico's Caribbean coast. When you snorkel there from the Jaguar Park boat, you'll see colored corals and fish in their natural habitat. The living underwater ecosystem that makes this reef system significant, not a cleared or managed tank.
Do I have to follow a guide around the park, or can I explore on my own?
You explore at your own pace using the electric cart. A live guide is available in English or Spanish if you want one, but the cart and the park layout let you move independently. The four viewpoints are marked, and the beach is where the boat departs, so you can't get lost.
Is the snorkeling equipment provided, or do I need to bring my own?
Snorkeling equipment is included in the day pass. You don't need to rent or bring your own.
What's included in the lunch, and where do I eat?
One dish and a drink are included at one of the seafront restaurants on the beach. You choose which restaurant and what to order from their menu within that meal.
