The experience

What makes paddleboarding different from other ways into a cenote is the vantage: you're standing on the board, moving across the water as if you're walking all around it. The tour starts with paddleboard exercises to get your balance, then you move into the cenote itself. From there you can see the mangroves, the rock formations, and the water in a way you can't from a boat or from shore.

Once you're comfortable on the board, you switch to snorkeling. You'll paddle into the mangrove channels where the water is clear and the roots create a natural maze. A local guide leads the way and can show you a free dive intro if you want to go deeper. The whole activity is tailored to what you're comfortable with, whether you're a beginner finding your balance or someone who wants to push further.

Lunch is the best tacos of Tulum Town, included in the tour. Transport from Tulum Town to Casa Cenote and back is by private vehicle. You'll need to bring a swimsuit, sunglasses, hat, and a lycra or rash-guard shirt. Leave sunscreen at the hotel since it damages the cenote. All paddleboards and snorkeling gear are cleaned and disinfected after every tour.
