Tulum & Coba Ruins Private Tour with Xcaret Night Show
Two thousand years of stone, then 300 artists after dark
A 12-hour private tour from Cancun combines two Mayan archaeological sites with an evening at Xcaret park and its Mexico Spectacular show. Hotel pickup and drop-off, a professional guide in English or Spanish, transport by air-conditioned minivan, and park entry are included. The day moves from the rainforest temples of Coba — where you can climb the Yucatan's tallest pyramid — to the clifftop ruins of Tulum overlooking the Caribbean, then to Xcaret's cenotes, underground rivers and the night show featuring 300 performers telling Mexico's history through music and regional dance.
Step-by-step itinerary

- Visit Tulum Mayan site
- Explore Xcaret Park activities
- Watch Xcaret Mexico Spectacular show

The Experience
Pickup happens between 9 and 9:30am from your Cancun or Riviera Maya hotel. The drive takes you first to Coba, a 1,500-year-old ceremonial center built in rainforest and surrounded by lakes and cenotes. The site spreads across forest floor, so you walk under tall trees where exotic birds and animals still live. The optional climb up Nohoch Mul — the tallest pyramid on the Yucatan Peninsula — rewards the effort with a view across the jungle canopy and the lakes below.
From Coba, the minivan carries you to Tulum, the only major Mayan ruin site built directly on a Caribbean beach. The temples and structures sit on a cliff overlooking the water, and the precision of their placement aligns with the movements of stars — a map built in stone. The sea views and the scale of the site make it the most photographed of the Yucatan ruins.
The afternoon shifts to Xcaret, a park that mixes Mayan jungle, Caribbean shoreline, cenote snorkeling and underground river swimming. As the sun sets, the Mexico Spectacular begins: 300 artists take the stage with pre-Hispanic drums, Mayan warriors and priests leading the way to the theater. The show is a two-hour celebration of light, color, regional dances and Mexican folklore, tracing the country's history from ancient times. After the performance, your guide drives you back to your hotel, arriving late evening.
