The experience

From there, the route takes you to the Agave Landscape in Amatitán, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2006, where you learn how the agave plants and the work around them define this drink.

The centerpiece is Tequila Cava de Oro, one of the last artisanal tequila factories in the region. You take the Puerta de Agave tour to watch the production process unfold (fermentation, distillation, the whole sequence), and the distillery includes a singing performance as part of the visit.
