The experience
If you have a free afternoon in Cozumel and want to get in the water without arranging your own boat, this snorkeling trip handles the logistics. You meet the crew at Marina Caleta (you'll need to arrive by taxi or your own vehicle), and from there the boat takes you to Palancar Reef, one of the largest coral systems on the island. The guide is fully certified and leads in English or Spanish, so you follow along as you move through the water.
Palancar Reef is where you spend most of your time in the water, seeing a wide variety of fish and corals. The crew then moves to Columbia Reef for a second snorkel site before heading to Playa El Cielo, a sandbar that stretches into the sea: shallow enough to walk across and different from the reef experience. All snorkeling equipment is provided, so you don't bring your own.
Ceviche, guacamole, fruit, soda and bottled water come with the outing. The whole experience is built around security measures and the crew's attention to making sure everyone is comfortable throughout the journey.
