A 3–4 hour guided walking tour of Queretaro's UNESCO-listed old town, led in English or Spanish, covering colonial and baroque architecture alongside Mexican history from pre-Hispanic times through the 20th century. The Experience

Three to four hours on foot through Queretaro's old town means you move at a pace that lets the guide linger on each stop without rushing through the day. You start with the city's foundation and the love story behind the aqueduct's construction, then move to the cemetery where some of the most important figures in Mexican history are buried and the guide explains their influence on the country. The Franciscan convent sits at the hilltop where Queretaro was founded a second time, and from there the route descends through Neo-Classical examples toward the main square, where the historical tales continue.

The Temple of the Virgin of Guadalupe comes next — you'll hear about the religious figure's historical importance in Mexico and the story of the temple's builder. Inside the ancient Convent premises, the guide points out the many transformations the building went through as different historical moments shaped the country, and shows you the spot where the old inland road began. The tour ends at a single corner that holds four landmarks side by side: the first and largest female convent in the city, the ancient hospital, a remarkable Neo-Classical fountain, and the greatest example of baroque private house architecture in Queretaro.
