Step-by-step itinerary
Snorkeling and free time on Isla Mujeres
- Set sail from Cancun
- Snorkel at Caribbean Sea for 45 minutes
- Enjoy free time on Isla Mujeres for 2.5 hours
The Experience
The boat leaves Cancun and heads straight to El Meco reef for a 45-minute snorkeling stop where a local guide leads you through the water. All equipment is provided on board — mask, fins, snorkel — and you'll see the famous fingers sculpture that sits on the seafloor. The reef sits in the Caribbean about 45 minutes from port, and the actual snorkeling time runs 30 minutes, with the rest of the stop spent gearing up and moving between the boat and the water.
After the reef, the boat takes you to Isla Mujeres for 2.5 hours of free time. You can swim at the beach, walk the town, buy souvenirs, or sit and watch the water — the time is yours to spend. Lunch happens aboard before you leave the boat: burritos (al pastor, chicken, or ham and cheese), salad, fruit and dessert. The premium open bar runs the whole tour and includes rum, tequila, vodka, beer, whiskey, soft drinks and water.
Roundtrip hotel pickup is included, so you don't arrange transport yourself. The operator needs your hotel name and address at least 24 hours before departure; if they don't have it, you'll be assigned a meeting point instead. Five departure times run each day — 8:30am, 10:00am, 11:30am, 1:00pm and 2:30pm — so you can fit the tour into your schedule. Dock fees and port taxes are included in the price.

Is this one for you?Book an early departure if you want to snorkel before the afternoon crowds reach El Meco, or choose the 2:30pm slot if you prefer a slower morning — the reef and the island stay the same either way, so the timing choice is about your schedule and how crowded you want the water to be.
