Snorkel the reef, then sink into a massage while the sun moves across the sky.

The Pitaya Costa Maya Day Pass is a six-hour beach day at Mahahual with snorkeling, massage, food and drinks all arranged. You get a shaded lounge chair, a 1.5-hour boat snorkeling tour with underwater photos, a 50-minute massage, an open bar with national alcoholic drinks, and one lunch plate of tacos or ceviche. Restrooms and showers are on site, and the package suits families, couples and groups who want both activity and downtime without planning separate bookings.

The Experience

The day starts with a shaded lounge chair waiting for you at Pitaya Beach. Before you settle in, you head out on the snorkeling boat for 1.5 hours—the reef is close enough that the ride is short and the water is warm. A guide takes underwater photos while you're down there, so you leave with proof of what you saw. Back on shore, the open bar runs all day with national alcoholic drinks, sodas and bottled water, so you're not tracking down a server between activities.

The 50-minute massage happens on the beach, and lunch arrives when you're ready for it—either chicken or veggie tacos with guacamole and fries, or fish ceviche with guacamole. Restrooms and showers let you rinse off salt water without leaving the property. The whole package is designed so the only thing you bring is yourself: the chair, the food, the drinks, the boat ride and the massage are all part of the price.

Top questions

What exactly happens during the snorkeling tour at Costa Maya?

The snorkeling tour runs 1.5 hours by boat from Pitaya Beach. You get in the water at the reef, and a guide takes underwater photos that are included with your pass. The boat is small enough that the ride out and back doesn't eat up the time in the water.

Can I choose what I eat for lunch?

Lunch is one platter per person, and you pick either chicken or veggie tacos with guacamole and fries, or fish ceviche with guacamole and fries. The menu also lists other options like lobster, fresh fish fillet, quesadillas and vegan dishes, so ask what's available when you arrive.

Is the massage included in the day pass price?

Yes, a 50-minute massage is included in the Pitaya Costa Maya Day Pass. It happens on the beach as part of your six-hour day.

What drinks are in the open bar?

The open bar includes national alcoholic drinks, sodas and bottled water throughout the day. You don't order or pay separately for any of them.

Do I need to bring anything, or is everything provided?

The pass includes a shaded lounge chair, towels, restrooms and showers on site. Bring sunscreen and a swimsuit; everything else—the chair, the massage, the food, the drinks and the snorkeling gear—is part of the package.
