The experience

The yacht departs from the marina and moves through the Nichupte Lagoon, passing under the Calinda channel bridge before opening into the Bay of Cancun. On a 1 or 2-hour rental, you anchor in turquoise water for swimming and sunbathing, then return. A 4-hour charter extends to Isla Mujeres. The boat reaches Playa Norte, the island's most popular beach, where you can swim, sunbathe or grab lunch at a beach club, then cruise the island's inner bays and southern point before heading back. The 6 and 8-hour options follow the same route with more time to linger on the island and explore the coastline.

The boat holds up to 17 people across two levels. The upper Flybridge gives you panoramic views and direct passage to the bow's sunbeds. The lower deck is fully enclosed and air-conditioned, with a sofa and dining table aft. Snorkeling happens at coral reefs or a sunken ship site (weather permitting), and you get snorkeling gear, a 12-by-6-foot floating mattress and a paddle board included. Bring your own food, beer or wine: red wine, hookahs and fireworks are the only things forbidden. The crew handles navigation and safety. Soft drinks are free.

Bad weather can cancel the trip, but the operator will run 1, 2 and 3-hour rentals in the lagoon if the Caribbean is closed but conditions are safe. Once the boat leaves the dock, the rental counts as rendered. Early departure forfeits no refund. You'll need to pay the dock fee in cash at the marina. The captain and crew speak English, Spanish, Italian, French and two additional languages.
