The experience

Cabo San Lucas sits at the tip of the Baja Peninsula where two bodies of water meet, and humpback whales migrate through both the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez. After check-in at the office, you'll head to the marina and board the boat. Before the search begins, you'll cruise past The Arch and other landmarks for sightseeing and photos, then the captain and marine biologist together decide whether to head into the Pacific or the Sea of Cortez based on weather, sea conditions and where whales are active that day.

The marine biologist leads the tour and talks through humpback behavior, migration patterns, communication and the marine ecosystem of Baja California Sur as you watch. You may see breaching, tail slapping, spy-hopping or playful interactions, or you may see whales at a distance. The boat carries a maximum of 12 people, which means better sightlines than larger tours and plenty of room to ask questions. Bottled water is provided throughout the 2.5 hours on the water.
