The experience
The boat leaves Cabo San Lucas and heads into the Sea of Cortez for a 45-minute cruise past eight named landmarks. Pelican Stone, a rock formation that appears to defy gravity, rises from the water near the start. As the boat moves along the coast, you pass Neptune's Finger, the Pacific Window and Scooby Doo Rock: each one a distinct formation the guide will point out. The Sea Lion Colony appears along the route, and the multicolored tropical fish in the clear water are visible from the deck. The Arch of Cabo San Lucas, known locally as El Arco and sometimes called the End of the Earth, rises majestically where the Gulf of California meets the Pacific Ocean.
After the cruise, the boat stops at one of three beaches: Playa del Amor, where the waters of the Sea of Cortez and Pacific Ocean meet; Playa Pelícano; or Playa el Médano, the most lively beach in the area. You have 2 hours to swim in the clear water, rest on the sand or, if you brought snorkeling gear, explore one of the bay's important reefs. You can bring your own snacks and drinks (non-alcoholic) for the beach time.
