The experience

Blue Bay and the Mahebourg area sit in turquoise water that opens onto a reef system where the diving happens. You start at the dive center with a proper briefing on the site and your dive plan. Equipment gets fitted and adjusted (tank, BCD, regulator, weights), and you practice in the pool or lagoon before entering the sea. That shallow-water session lets you get comfortable with the gear and your breathing before the actual dive.

The sea dive runs about 45 minutes. You descend with your guide, explore the reef and its fish, and move at a pace that keeps everyone together. The guide watches your air consumption and your comfort the whole time. When the dive ends, you surface, return to shore, and go through a debriefing at the center: what you saw, how you felt, what to expect next time. The whole outing, from arrival to drive back, takes roughly two hours.

Blue World Explorer operates PADI-certified dive centers and can pick you up anywhere in Mauritius or Rodrigues, so you don't arrange your own transport to the water. The guides speak English and French, so the briefing and the dive itself happen in whichever language you need. Children from age seven can dive. All the equipment (tanks, weights, regulators, masks) comes with the booking.
