The Experience
The catamaran heads southeast along the coast, where you'll see the mountain range and the lagoon's clear water. The route passes waterfalls and spots where monkeys and birds gather on shore. After an hour or so, the boat stops at Fond Blanc or Eau Bleu, where the snorkelling begins. You'll enter water clear enough to see staghorn coral patches, small fish, trumpet fish and coachmen — the ones with the white dorsal fin. The crew fits you with a lifejacket or lifebuoy if you want one, and stays in the water with the group.
Back on board, the barbecue grill fires up. Lunch is fresh fish and chicken grilled to order, served with grilled eggplants, garlic bread, pasta salad, mixed greens and seasonal fruit. A range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks runs throughout the day. After eating, the boat moves to Île aux Cerfs itself, where you can walk the island, rest in the shade or have a coffee before the return sail.
OCÉANE has run catamaran charters for over 39 years and operates under eco-friendly practices and international safety standards. The crew receives formal training, and the boat is set up for swimmers of all comfort levels. The tour runs seven hours total, and you can add hotel pickup to your booking if you need it.
