The Experience
The catamaran departs Trou D'eau Douce and sails upriver to the Grand River South East waterfall, known locally as Cascade Diamamouve. You stop for photos and watch for monkeys in the trees along the riverbanks. The boat then moves to a snorkeling site where you swim and explore the marine life in crystal-clear water before returning onboard for lunch.
Lunch is a 3-course BBQ served on the catamaran, with soft drinks, juice, water, beer, wine, and local rum included. After eating, the boat heads to Ile Aux Cerfs, where you have time to relax on white sandy beaches, swim in the lagoon, and browse the local arts and crafts market for souvenirs. Optional watersports like parasailing and tube riding are available at an extra cost. The return sail to Trou D'eau Douce includes live Mauritian Sega music onboard.
Hotel pickup and drop-off can be added at checkout; without it, you meet the boat at Trou D'eau Douce. The guide speaks English and French. Transportation between stops takes about 1 hour 30 minutes total. The catamaran is wheelchair accessible, and the tour suits all fitness levels; infants can sit on an adult's lap or travel in a stroller, and the food is Halal.
