The experience

Blue Bay Marine Park is the first stop, where you enter the water with snorkeling gear provided and swim among trumpet fish, coral formations and other tropical species in water that shifts through multiple shades of blue. The speedboat then passes Ile aux Aigrettes, home to the last dry coastal forest remnants that once ringed most of Mauritius, before heading to Ile de la Passe and Ile du Phare (Lighthouse Island). Both islands hold 200-year-old ruins: a former prison on Ile de la Passe and an abandoned lighthouse on Ile du Phare, which sits on cliffs where waves crash against the rocks and rare lizards and tropical birds inhabit the terrain.

On the way to Ile aux Cerfs, you pass the Grand River South East waterfall and may spot monkeys moving through the old trees along the riverbanks or Mauritian fruit bats hanging from the highest branches. The boat then stops at the wild side of Ile aux Cerfs for a barbecue lunch of chicken, fish, sausage, garlic bread, salad and fruit, with local drinks including alcohol. Afterward, you move to the postcard-perfect beaches on the other side of the island for swimming and relaxation. The final snorkeling stop is near Ile aux Aigrettes before your private driver returns you to your hotel.
