Arrival at Son Kol happens in the afternoon through serpentine mountain passes. Sleep comes in a yurt, the traditional Kyrgyz dwelling used throughout the region. The second morning starts with breakfast and free time to walk around the lake or swim if the season allows, followed by a gradual descent back through the mountain passes.
The return journey includes lunch in Kochkor town and a stop at Orto Tokoi reservoir, a turquoise body of water visible from the road. Hotel drop-off in Bishkek marks the end of the tour.
