A 3-day private guided tour around Issyk Kul Lake from Bishkek with hotel pickup, an English-speaking guide, and an air-conditioned vehicle. The Experience

The tour starts with a 230km drive from Bishkek toward the lake's north coast, stopping at Burana Tower—a UNESCO World Heritage site from the 11th century where you climb to the top, visit the archaeology museum, and walk among ancient stone balbals. From there, a light one-hour hike takes you into Kok Moinok canyon before you reach Cholpon Ata, the lake's central northern town. A ship ride carries you 4km out onto the water to a depth of 120 meters; in summer months (May–September) you can swim with a life jacket; in other seasons you stay on deck watching the mountains ring the lake. You sleep in a hotel in Cholpon Ata.

Day two moves you south along the shore to explore Grigoriev and Semyonov gorges, where a 2.5-hour hike leads to a hidden alpine lake called Suttuu Bulak. After a village lunch and a short stop in Karakol to see the Dungan mosque (1910) and Russian Orthodox church (1895), you drive deeper into Jeti Oguz valley—known as Seven Bulls for its rock formations. A horseback ride through forests and up the mountainside takes you to Maiden Braids waterfall. You overnight in a traditional yurt camp on the jailoo (summer pasture), with time to walk the meadows, a bonfire, and stargazing.

The final day begins with more time at Jeti Oguz's red rocks, then a one-hour hike through Skazka (Fairy Tale) canyon. At Ak Sai village on the south shore, you watch eagle hunting—a traditional Kyrgyz practice where a berkutchi (eagle owner) demonstrates how the bird hunts, then you try archery yourself. A picnic on the wild beach follows, with swimming and sunbathing. A one-hour hike up to the Canyon of Forgotten Rivers rounds out the activities before the 230km drive back to Bishkek and drop-off at your hotel.
