The experience

Your driver arrives at your Tokyo hotel in the morning and you're already moving toward the mountains. You soak in the thermal water, maybe get a massage, and there's a relaxation room where people nap by the water if they want to. This is the part of the day that actually slows down: no schedule, just time. After lunch and the bath, you head to the Hakone Open-Air Museum, where over a thousand sculptures by Picasso, Henry Moore, and Japanese artists are spread across 70,000 square meters of gardens.
