The experience

The day starts with a drive of under 30 minutes from your hotel or cruise port to the bamboo river. You board a handcrafted 30-foot raft and spend an hour floating downstream, listening to your guide explain the area's natural history and ecosystem as the water carries you past the landscape. The raft moves at the pace of the current, no paddling required, so you sit back and watch the banks pass.

After the river, your driver takes you on another 30-minute drive to the coast. You meet the horses on the beach and ride them into the ocean for roughly an hour, splashing through the shallows with expert guides leading the way. This is not a trail ride. The horses wade and swim, and you get wet. Afterward, your driver returns you to your hotel or ship. On request, the operator can arrange stops for lunch or souvenirs on the way back.
