The experience

Four organic wines meet four artisanal cheeses at a working Chianti estate, paired by someone trained to explain why each combination works. The Sommelier walks you through the mechanics (how acidity cuts fat, how tannins grip texture, how sweetness balances salt), so you're not just tasting but understanding the logic behind the pairing. Fresh fruit, honey and jams round out the tasting, and you get printed guides and infographics to refer to later.

The estate itself is the setting: you tour the wine cellar built in 1810 and the ancient olive mill before the tasting begins, grounding the wines in their place. A self-guided vineyard walk is yours to take before or after the tasting, depending on how you want to pace the afternoon. The whole experience runs 90 minutes, and parking is free.

Top questions

What languages is the tour guided in?

Live guide in English and Italian.

What exactly do I taste during the wine and cheese pairing?

You taste 4 carefully selected organic wines paired with 4 artisanal local cheeses, plus fresh fruit, honey and jams chosen to enhance the tasting experience. The Sommelier explains how each pairing works before you taste.

What is the 1810 cellar like, and what will I see there?

The cellar is the original wine storage built into the Chianti estate in 1810. You explore it as part of the estate tour to understand the history and origins of the wines you're about to taste, then move to the tasting itself.

Can I walk through the vineyards during this experience?

Yes. A self-guided vineyard walk is included, and you can take it before or after your tasting depending on how you want to structure your time at the estate.

Do I need wine knowledge to enjoy this, or will the Sommelier teach me?

The Sommelier teaches you the pairing principles (acidity, tannins, structure, fat and sweetness), so you understand how wines and cheeses work together. You also receive educational materials and infographics designed to deepen your understanding, so prior knowledge is not required.

Is this experience suitable if I have dietary restrictions or allergies?

The estate can accommodate most dietary restrictions and food intolerances if you inform them in advance. Severe allergies cannot be accommodated, so contact them before booking if you have concerns.
