Step-by-step itinerary
Winery tour and wine tasting meal
- Visit Buglioni Winery vineyards
- Explore winery cellar and barrels
- Tour drying loft with grapes
- Enjoy 5-course lunch or dinner
- Receive wine glass voucher for Piscaria
The experience
Buglioni Winery sits in its own organic vineyards outside Verona, and the tour starts outdoors before moving into the cellar where the operation began 30 years ago. You see the barrels holding the Valpolicella reds and touch the amphorae that house the Amarone Riserva, not a photograph or a video, but the actual vessels. The drying loft comes next, a space that hosts Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Croatina, and Oseleta grapes for months while they dry before crushing. It is the part of winemaking most visitors never see.
After the winery, you drive ten minutes to Locanda Buglioni, the wine restaurant attached to the cellar. A guide walks you through lunch or dinner: five courses, each paired with a tasting glass of wine. The lineup moves from Il Vigliacco Brut Rosè and Rosacipolla Rosè through Il Bugiardo Ripasso Valpolicella Classico Superiore to the two wines most people come for: Il Lussurioso Amarone della Valpolicella Classico and Il Narcisista Recioto della Valpolicella Classico. The whole experience runs about four hours from start to finish.
You leave with a voucher for a glass of wine at Piscaria, an osteria di mare in Verona's historic center, good for a year. It is an unusual pairing (fish and red wine), and a reason to come back to the city.

What exactly do I see and touch at Buglioni Winery?
Buglioni's cellar holds the barrels storing Valpolicella reds and the amphorae housing Amarone Riserva, both of which you can touch. You also visit the drying loft, where the five grape varieties rest for months before crushing: a space most winery visitors never enter.
How does the lunch or dinner work, and what wines do I taste?
A guide leads you through five courses paired with five wines at Locanda Buglioni restaurant. You taste Il Vigliacco Brut Rosè, Rosacipolla Rosè Trevenezie, Il Bugiardo Ripasso Valpolicella Classico Superiore, Il Lussurioso Amarone della Valpolicella Classico, and Il Narcisista Recioto della Valpolicella Classico: one glass per course.
Is there anything included after the tasting ends?
You receive a voucher for a glass of wine at Piscaria, an osteria di mare in Verona's historic center, valid for up to a year after your visit. Piscaria pairs fish with red wine, an uncommon combination.
