The experience
Russo 1989 Distillery sits on the Amalfi Coast, and the day starts there: a guide walks you through how the distillery produces its limoncello, from the lemons to the bottle. Then you move into the kitchen for the cooking class. You pick one appetizer from caprese, tomato bruschetta or buffalo mozzarella; one pasta or risotto from spaghetti with clams, gnocchi, lasagna or spaghetti alla Nerano; one second course from stuffed squid, stuffed mussels or poached octopus; and one dessert from tiramisu, panna cotta or puff pastry. A chef teaches you each one, and you prepare it yourself.
Lunch is what you cooked. You eat the four courses you made, paired with a tasting of Russo limoncello. The whole experience runs six hours and stays capped at eight people, so the kitchen doesn't crowd and the chef can watch each cook. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included, and the distillery is wheelchair accessible.
