The experience
You start on Cavour Street near the Colosseum, where your driver picks you up. The tour moves through Rome's oldest neighborhoods on a single Vespa, with you as the passenger. At the Colosseum you have 10 minutes to take photos and hear about the ancient amphitheater. Then the route heads toward Circus Maximus, once Rome's largest stadium, where you pass the Palatine Hill and Aventine Hill on the way. The ride carries you through the cobblestone streets of Trastevere, where the Tiber River comes into view, and you see the Santa Sabina Basilica and private historical buildings that line the way.
The Orange Garden (Giardino degli Aranci) gives you 15 minutes to stand on a terrace with views of the Vatican and the entire city spread below. It was once the private garden of the Savelli family and remains one of Rome's quieter vantage points. From there the route climbs to Gianicolo, Rome's highest hill, for another 15 minutes of views across the Roman skyline and toward Vatican Gardens. On the approach you pass Castel Sant'Angelo, built in 135 AD. The tour ends at the Pantheon, one of the world's oldest temples still standing, where you have 5 minutes to see it and hear its history before the ride concludes.
You wear a helmet throughout and ride behind your personal driver, who speaks English, Italian, Russian or Turkish depending on the option you choose. The tour lasts 90 minutes total, with the remaining time spent traveling between stops. A phone is provided so your driver can photograph you at key moments. The experience is passenger-only. You are not driving the Vespa yourself.

Is this one for you?Book this tour if you want to see Rome's major landmarks in a single afternoon without navigating the city yourself or standing in entry lines. The Vespa moves fast enough to cover ground, but stops long enough at each site to take photos and absorb the views: a middle ground between a walking tour and a rushed drive-by.
