The Experience

Our guide Marco met us at the office and spent the first few minutes making sure the Segway felt stable under our feet — he didn't rush it, just let us get the balance right before we rolled out onto the street. That's when the tour actually started, not with a speech but with him pointing out how we'd cover the Colosseum, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps without the usual ache that comes from navigating Rome on foot. The whole thing starts and ends at the office, so there's no confusion about where to show up. You need to be at least 16 years old and comfortable with your balance on the machine — they won't let you on if you're under 100 pounds or over 250 pounds, and you should wear shoes you can actually move in. Don't bring a large bag; the Segway isn't the place for it. Book ahead so they know you're coming and have everything ready.
